Mari Energies Limited has signed a joint venture agreement with Ghani Chemical Industries Ltd. to establish a new project company focused on processing vent and exhaust gas from the Sachal Gas Processing Complex in Daharki, Sindh.
According to a notice sent to the Pakistan Stock Exchange, the new company will recover hydrocarbons from the plant’s exhaust gas, producing liquefied natural gas (LNG) as well as industrial and food-grade carbon dioxide (CO₂).
Mari Energies will hold a 51% equity stake in the venture, with Ghani Chemical owning the remaining 49%.
The initiative aims to reduce greenhouse gas emissions while generating economic value for stakeholders, the company said. The agreement follows an earlier term sheet signed between the two firms in July.
The project is expected to contribute to both environmental sustainability and the local economy by capturing and utilizing gases that would otherwise be released into the atmosphere.
