Earlier, at the PAPS event in Karachi, MG unveiled two new cars, the U9 and Binguo. Both cars are in entirely different categories; U9 is a diesel-turbo pickup truck, and Binguo is an all-electric compact hatchback.
For Binguo, MG didn’t unveil any pricing details. However, for the U9, MG opened pre-bookings at Rs. 8 million, and didn’t reveal the full price of the car at that time.
Now, in a fresh update, MG has announced on its social media channels that the official price of the U9 will be revealed tonight at exactly midnight.
For a quick refresher, the U9 is a 2.5-liter turbocharged diesel engine pickup truck. It’s currently offered only in Australia, making Pakistan the second market to receive the truck, with deliveries expected in the first quarter of next year.
In Australia, the U9 goes up against heavy hitters like the Ford Ranger. But here in Pakistan, it will compete with the ISUZU D-Max and the Toyota Revo. With MG stepping into the truck category for the first time, tonight’s price reveal will set the tone for how aggressively the brand plans to position itself in this space.
