Since the decades-old Suzuki Bolan, aka “Carry Daba,” has been officially discontinued, and Pakistan Suzuki Motor Company (PSMC) has also revealed the chassis number of the last unit, “locally assembled Suzuki Every,” will soon take its place.

After a series of reports regarding the launch of this mini MPV, we finally received the price update. Previously, we also discussed the query of when Suzuki Every will replace the old Bolan. As per our sources, the upcoming vehicle is expected to cost Rs. 2.6 million, compared to the Bolan, currently priced at Rs. 1,940,000, making a difference of Rs. 960,000.

Moreover, the sources also informed that the locally assembled “Every” is anticipated to be equipped with AC, power steering and other features adding comfort to the driving and travelling experience. The vehicle is likely to hit the markets in second week of October 2024. Earlier, the company planned to launch mini MPV this month but LCs-related issues hindered the local car maker to follow this plan, he added.

Delays in Suzuki Every Launch

Initially, there were hopes that the company would launch the vehicle in 2022. Later, we learned that it may arrive by the end of 2023 or the first half of 2024. Again, all this was just a rumor. And this time, even as 2024 is about to conclude, sources have reported that PSMC may bring “Every” in the coming weeks.

The news of Suzuki Every replacing the Bolan stemmed from a Lahore High Court order directing the Engineering Development Board (EDB), the regulatory body for the auto industry, to ensure that all car manufacturers assemble vehicles equipped with airbags.

Soon after the news emerged, PakWheels reached out to EBD, and one of the officials from the board confirmed that all local manufacturers and importers were instructed to comply with internationally recognized safety standards, known as WP-29, including the installation of airbags by the end of 2021.

The official from the Engineering Development Board (EDB) confirmed that airbags will become mandatory for all cars by mid-2024. And this might be another behind the discontinuation of reason his Suzuki Bolan, which lacks airbags.
