Pioneering gender inclusivity and youth skill development in the mining industry, Thar Foundation has enrolled 13 girls in the 3-year DAE (Diploma of Associate Engineering) Mining program at Government Polytechnic Institute (GPI) – Mithi where they will be trained to become skilled mining professionals.
Under this DAE Mining program, ~50 students including 13 girls for the first time are receiving quality education in the DAE Mining.
These students will undergo a comprehensive two-year study program followed by a third year of studies in China. This initiative aligns with Thar Foundation’s vision of empowering the women of Thar and enhancing the local talent development of the community, interlinking the UN SDG Goal 4 and 5 of Quality Education and Gender Equality.
